About the club

Hobart Lions Rugby Club, formerly Hutchins Old Boys Rugby Club, is a rugby union club that fields a senior men's team in the Tasmanian Statewide Competition. The club formed over 25 years ago and has forged a strong reputation within the Tasmanian Rugby Community. Our recent change in Club name was the result of the need to expand our club network. Following the change we have featured prominently in the finals series' for the past few years and have committed to working hard on and off the field in a push towards premiership glory.

Hobart Lions has 40+ registered players and an active supporters group from differing backgrounds. The club demographic is diverse, ranging from Students, Lawyers, Accountants, Engineers and Banking Professionals to Business Owners and Tradesman.

Our commitment is to actively seek new members either as players or social members, and to create and maintain an active club network. We encourage the participation and involvement of all members of the club - both past and present.
